Introductory Band is a new course being offered at Western for the 2021-2022 school year. This course is designed to provide an opportunity for incoming grade 10 students without prior music experience to learn a musical instrument. Students are not required to have their own instrument as rentals for students in this class are available from the school.

Students in this course will develop fundamental skills as instrumentalists and work towards ensemble music performance. The objective of this course is for students to be prepared to successfully join the regular performing ensemble stream in the Band Program. If you are a full IB or partial IB student, it is important to note that your enrollment in the Band Program will support you in achieving your CAS outcomes each of your three years.

This course meets Tuesday and Friday during the AM block before school and runs for the Full Year for 5 credits.
